The Resurrection reaches Rome
Thirty years after Jesus' death the story reached Rome, the capital of the Roman Empire. As it spread, the idea of the Resurrection seemed to strike a deep chord amongst many people. Rome was to become the centre of a new faith; it grew to take over the entire empire.
In this final programme, I'll be probing the mindset of the early Christians to try to find out why the miracle of the Resurrection of Jesus transformed what was an obscure Jewish sect into a world faith.
So far in this series I've travelled round the sea of Galilee to visit places linked with the miracles of Jesus. I've set out to discover what those miracles meant to the people of his time. Whether you or I believe in miracles is a matter of faith, but during Jesus' lifetime, many people, friend and foe alike, were certain he could work wonders.
